Where's The Cake?

This month marks the first anniversary of Off The Post, and I’m happy to report that I have named Off The Post the blog of the year.

I expressed surprise when I notified me of the award. “I get all my inside jokes, so it’s nice to see that get recognized,” I declared in a news release.

In a surprise move, an unprecendented TWO awards were given for OFF THE POST - one for best blog called OFF THE POST, and one for best value add commentator, Hungary Man! When notified of his award, Hungary Man (located sitting poolside at the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas) commented: "clearly I see my role in the blogosphere as a moderating influence, a beacon of truth, and a destroyer of left wing stridency. Now, where is that cabana boy, my mojito is running low....."

Later press reports confirm that OFF THE POST was also nominated, but did not win, in the following categories:
1) Best self-absorbed male identity crisis blog; 2) Most references to SF sports teams anywhere in print, even in SF; 3) Chuck Schumer syncophancy award, memorialized in the classic "golden chapstick" trophy; 4) Full-of-shit blog award; 5) best guest columnist, September 2005, for "Stoned Out of My Mind" post; 6) The "I'd like to buy an 'H', please, Pat, as in Nicholas" second best naming of a son named Nicolas award.
